Meiko Takayashi
Meiko is the heroine of this series. She was abandonned at 8 years old by her father, after her mother died. Before traveling to New York, she was best friends with Kenshi Tsuno and took martial arts lessons at the Tsuno's Dojo with Sensei Makoto. Meiko is a skilled fighter and has a strong will, though she will never admit that she is afraid of something; she has a hard time showing her emotions to others. She also makes strange dreams about her mother and often has apparitions of an angel; something no one except her sees. Best friend with Kenshi since they were 5, Meiko has an interest for Kyosuke's personality, that intriguing 19 year old boy who hangs out with Casey, Tamotsu, and Koji. She is also attached of Kiyone, another student at TISS, and Yuki, the 20 year old girl who works at Otomo's. Meiko's a student at TISS and is in the same class as Kenshi and Ken. She also has a dog named Hoshi who was given by Kenshi and his family when she was younger.
